Our interest: we earn a commission if you buy through the link on this page. It costs you nothing. The warranty table, the panel-cover exclusions and the delivery conditions below are taken from LG’s own support pages, including where they count against the sale.

Everyone can find an LG TV price in thirty seconds, so this page does the part that is harder: the terms you only discover after something goes wrong. Buying direct from LG Electronics U.K. Ltd, company number 02143888, registered at Velocity 2, Brooklands Drive, Weybridge and incorporated on 1 July 1987, gets you the maker’s own warranty and its own delivery service, and both are worth reading first.

Here is the figure that surprised us. LG’s own warranty page gives a television 12 months parts and 12 months labour. The same page gives a monitor 24 months, a WiFi soundbar 24 months, a washing machine 24 months and a projector 36 months.

So the most expensive thing in LG’s living-room range carries the shortest standard cover of almost anything it sells. That is not unusual across the television industry, but it is the single most useful thing to know before you spend four figures on a panel.

The warranty table, in LG's own numbers

Straight from LG UK’s consumer warranty page, labour and parts, for domestic use:

ProductLabourParts
Televisions12 months12 months
Projectors36 months36 months
Monitors24 months24 months
Soundbars and speakers, WiFi models24 months24 months
Soundbars, “WiFi Ready” models12 months12 months
Washers, dryers, fridge freezers24 months24 months
Dishwashers, Stylers, microwaves24 months24 months
Home cinema systems, Blu-ray players, laptops, earbuds12 months12 months

Read the soundbar rows together, because they are a trap worth avoiding: a soundbar with working WiFi gets 24 months, but one described as “WiFi Ready” gets 12. Same shelf, same brand, half the cover. If you are adding a soundbar to a TV order, check which description applies before you choose.

Projectors at 36 months is the standout. If you are weighing a big TV against a projector for a dark room, the projector comes with three times the standard cover.

The 5-year OLED panel warranty, and who does not get it

LG does offer longer cover on OLED panels, and it is a genuine benefit: a five-year premium OLED panel warranty, with no registration required. Two qualifications decide whether it applies to you.

First, which models. LG lists it on selected G, M, W and Z series OLED TVs. The C series is not in that list — and the C is the model most people actually buy, because it is the one that sits at the sensible end of the price range. If five-year panel cover is what you are buying, you have to buy up into the G series or above.

Second, it covers the panel and not the repair. LG’s wording is explicit: “The consumer will be charged for labour after the 12 month product warranty has expired”. So in year three, LG supplies the panel and you pay an engineer to fit it to a wall-mounted 65-inch television. That is not a trivial bill, and it is not covered.

Worth knowing alongside it: LG also publishes 10 years of parts cover on specific washer and dryer components and on the fridge freezer linear compressor, on the same labour-charged basis. The pattern across the whole range is long parts cover and short labour cover.

And one clause that voids everything, so protect against it on day one: if the serial number is “defaced, missing or illegible”, the LG UK warranty is void. Photograph the serial-number sticker on the back of the set before you mount it, along with the invoice — the warranty is valid only with the original invoice, receipt or LG’s own confirmation of the period.

What the warranty does not pay for

LG “guarantees free repair service to its products within the warranty period” through authorised service centres, and parts or units may be “new or remanufactured service exchanges” — so a replacement is not necessarily brand new.

Excluded, in LG’s own list:

  • Routine check-ups, maintenance and normal wear and tear.
  • Transport, removal and installation costs. On a large television that is the expensive part.
  • Misuse, “including incorrect installation” — which puts the risk of a DIY wall mount on you.
  • Damage from lightning, water, fire, acts of God, war, public disturbances, incorrect mains voltage or poor ventilation.

Two practical consequences. Poor ventilation being named means a set recessed into a tight cabinet or media wall is a risk to your cover, so leave the clearance the manual asks for. And because installation is excluded both ways — not covered by the warranty, and bad installation voids it — a professional wall mount with a receipt is worth more than the saving on doing it yourself.

Back up anything stored on the set before a repair: LG states it is not responsible for data loss during one.

There is a support life to factor in too. The 65-inch C-series page we read states that its “security update is supported until 31/12/2029”. That is a smart-TV software commitment, not a warranty, but on a television you expect to keep for a decade it tells you when the apps and the browser stop being maintained. Check that date on the model you are buying.

Delivery, and the word "members"

LG advertises free delivery on all LG.com orders, and then qualifies it in the footnotes. The three qualifications matter:

  • Free delivery is for members only — you have to be signed up.
  • It does not cover postcode-related fees. Delivery charges “vary by postcode and may include additional charges for Highland or remote areas”, with the final cost confirmed at the checkout.
  • Installation is not included unless stated when you order.

For the Scottish Islands and remote areas, LG says delivery is handled by a third-party carrier who contacts you to arrange a date. So if you are outside mainland Britain, do not treat “free delivery” as a price — get to the basket and read the real figure before you commit.

The ordering page does offer a delivery date and an optional time slot, plus a paid Installation Plus service, which for a 65-inch set delivered to a flat is worth pricing rather than dismissing.

On returns, one clause to watch if you buy a bundle: “In the event of a return, all products purchased in the bundle must be returned together”, and “A partial refund is not possible under any circumstances”. So a TV-and-soundbar deal is one object for returns purposes — you cannot keep the television and send back the soundbar.

Discounts and finance, with the numbers

The direct-from-LG discounts are structured around membership rather than sales:

  • Welcome voucher: 5% off your first purchase when you join, valid 90 days from sign-up, online only, and not combinable with other offers.
  • Membership discount: a further 2% off, for as long as you keep the membership.
  • Rotating promotions we saw included up to 15% off selected TVs, 10% off selected OLED TVs, up to 15% cashback on selected sets, and up to 50% off selected soundbars bought with an eligible TV.
  • A Trade-Up offer, one per order, which can be combined with the welcome voucher but not with other offers or an LG Flex subscription.

Note the combination rules, because they are where the stacking falls apart: the welcome voucher is not combinable with other offers, and the Trade-Up only pairs with the voucher. In practice you pick one route, not all of them.

On finance, the published terms are:

  • PayPal Credit: 0% interest for 4 months over £99, 12 months over £1,000, and up to 30 months over £2,500, subject to approval. The representative example is 23.9% APR variable.
  • Klarna Pay in 3 and Pay in 30, and PayPal Pay in 3.
  • Finance is limited to permanent UK residents aged 18 or over.

Thirty months at 0% on a £2,500 television is a real offer and the cheapest way to spread that cost — provided you clear it inside the term, because the rate behind it is 23.9% variable. Set the standing order to finish a month early.

One thing we could not do, and what we would do instead

We will be straight with you: we could not read LG’s prices. Its UK television pages render the price after the page loads, so on the 65-inch C-series page we read the model code OLED65C56LB, the EAN, the size options of 48, 55, 65 and 77 inches and the security-update date — but no figure we could quote honestly. We are not going to publish a price we did not see.

What that means for you in practice. Buying direct from LG is rarely the cheapest way to get an LG television, and the brand’s own site is not where you discover that. What buying direct does get you is the manufacturer’s warranty handled by the manufacturer, a chosen delivery date, an installation option, and the 0% finance above.

So the sensible sequence is: pick the exact model code from LG’s own pages, where the specification and the support date are reliable; check the warranty row above for that product type; then price that model code wherever you like, including here. If the gap to a retailer is small, buying direct is the easier life. If it is £150, it is not.

Where it wins

  • Buying direct means the manufacturer handles the warranty, with no retailer in between
  • Five years' OLED panel cover on selected G, M, W and Z sets, with no registration required
  • Projectors carry 36 months and monitors 24, so the wider range is well covered
  • 0% finance for up to 30 months on orders over £2,500 through PayPal Credit
  • Klarna Pay in 3 and Pay in 30, and PayPal Pay in 3, are also offered
  • A 5% welcome voucher and a further 2% for members
  • You can choose a delivery date and an optional time slot
  • A paid Installation Plus service is available at the point of ordering
  • A Trade-Up offer against your old set, one per order
  • Model pages publish the security-update end date, so you know how long the smart features are maintained
  • LG Electronics U.K. Ltd has been registered in Britain since July 1987

Where it falls short

  • Televisions get only 12 months' parts and labour — the shortest cover on almost anything LG sells
  • A £150 monitor gets 24 months while a £2,000 television gets 12
  • The C series, the volume seller, is excluded from the 5-year OLED panel warranty
  • The panel warranty pays for the panel only: you pay the labour from month 13
  • A “WiFi Ready” soundbar gets half the warranty of a WiFi one, with no warning at the point of sale
  • Transport, removal and installation are all excluded from the warranty
  • Incorrect installation and poor ventilation are named as exclusions, which puts a DIY wall mount at risk
  • A defaced or illegible serial number voids the warranty entirely
  • Replacement parts may be remanufactured rather than new
  • “Free delivery” is members-only and excludes postcode fees
  • Highland, island and remote deliveries cost more, with the real figure only shown at the checkout
  • A bundle must be returned complete, with no partial refund “under any circumstances”
  • The welcome voucher cannot be combined with other offers, so discounts do not stack
  • LG does not publish its television prices in a form we could read and quote

Common questions

How long is the warranty on an LG television?

Twelve months parts and twelve months labour, according to LG UK’s own consumer warranty page. For comparison, the same page gives monitors 24 months, WiFi soundbars 24 months, washing machines 24 months and projectors 36 months. A television carries the shortest standard cover of almost anything LG sells.

Does my OLED get the five-year panel warranty?

Only if it is one of the selected G, M, W or Z series sets. The C series is not in that list, and it is the model most buyers choose. No registration is needed where it applies, but read the limit: it covers the panel, and LG states that “the consumer will be charged for labour after the 12 month product warranty has expired”. In year three LG supplies the panel and you pay to have it fitted.

What can void the warranty?

A serial number that is “defaced, missing or illegible” voids it outright, so photograph the sticker on the back before the set is mounted. Claims also need the original invoice, receipt or LG’s confirmation of the period. Misuse “including incorrect installation” is excluded, as is damage from poor ventilation — which matters if you are recessing the TV into a media wall or a tight cabinet.

Is delivery really free?

For members, on mainland orders, and not including postcode fees. LG says charges “vary by postcode and may include additional charges for Highland or remote areas”, confirmed at the checkout, and that Scottish Islands and remote deliveries are handled by a third-party carrier who contacts you to arrange a date. Installation is separate unless you add it when ordering.

Can I return just the soundbar from a TV bundle?

No. The bundle terms state that “in the event of a return, all products purchased in the bundle must be returned together” and that “a partial refund is not possible under any circumstances”. If you are unsure about the soundbar, buy it separately rather than as part of a bundle.

What finance is available?

PayPal Credit at 0% for four months on orders over £99, twelve months over £1,000 and up to thirty months over £2,500, all subject to approval, with a representative 23.9% APR variable behind them. Klarna Pay in 3 and Pay in 30 and PayPal Pay in 3 are also offered. Finance is limited to permanent UK residents aged 18 or over, and the 0% only stays free if you clear the balance inside the term.

Our verdict

Buy the television from LG direct if you want the maker handling its own warranty, a delivery date you choose, an installation option and up to 30 months at 0% on a set over £2,500. Go in knowing two things. The standard television warranty is 12 months parts and labour, which is shorter than the 24 LG gives a monitor and the 36 it gives a projector — so the cover on the most expensive thing in the range is the thinnest. And the headline five-year OLED panel warranty does not cover the C series, and pays for the panel but not the engineer who fits it. Photograph the serial-number sticker and the invoice before the set goes on the wall, leave the ventilation gap the manual asks for, have it installed professionally with a receipt, and check the security-update date on the model page if you plan to keep it for a decade. Then price that exact model code elsewhere before you buy — direct from the brand is the easiest route, not usually the cheapest.
